CAMBRIDGE, May 2, MolecularWare, a developer of software tools for high-throughput biotechnology research, raised an undisclosed amount of financing from KnowledgeCube Group. MolecularWare's software enables scientists to receive large quantities of data from high-throughput instruments, such as liquid-handling robots, microarraying robots, and microarray scanners.

CAMBRIDGE, May 7, Novirio Pharmaceuticals announced the first closing of a $44 million private equity financing through the issuance of its Series C Preferred Shares. CSFB Private Equity led the round, with additional funding from new and prior investors. Existing investors of Novirio include TVM Techno Venture Management, MPM Capital and Nomura International. New investors participating in the private placement were Novartis BioVentures, Hanseatic Americas LDC, Biomedical Sciences Investment Fund PTE Ltd, Swiss Life Private Equity Partners, Banc of America Securities and Swan Private Equity Verwaltungs GmbH. Novirio is a biopharmaceutical company focused on the discovery, development and commercialization of treatments for life-threatening human viral diseases. The company's principal disease targets are hepatitis B virus (HBV), hepatitis C virus (HCV) and HIV/AIDS.

BOSTON, May 7, Corechange, Inc., a provider of e-access framework software, announced that it has raised $25 million in a Series C equity financing. Founded in 1996, privately held Corechange has raised $65 million to date and plans to use the funds raised in this financing round to expand its business and accelerate its path to profitability. UBS Capital Americas III, L.P. and affiliates led the round with additional investments from Exelon Capital Partners and SG Cowen Ventures, as well as from strategic investors, including Nortel Networks. Earlier round investors ABN AMRO Private Equity and HarbourVest Venture Partners also participated in the round.

SOUTHBOROUGH, May 8, SANgate Systems, a developer of enterprise storage appliances, raised an additional $10 million in equity funding from Jerusalem Venture Partners and Battery Ventures. The capital will help accelerate organizational growth and the development and delivery of the company's enterprise storage appliance. Founded in May 1999, SANgate provides the only enterprise-class solution supporting both mainframe and open systems environments.

CAMBRIDGE, May 9, ONEWORLD Software Solutions, a software development partner for software product companies, announced that it has received financing from Advent International, Citicorp Venture Capital, Foursan Technology Partners, and New Horizons Venture Capital as part of its third round of financing. Founded in 1997, ONEWORLD plans to use the investment to support operations and market growth in the U.S. and abroad.

BOSTON, May 9, Netonomy, a provider of self-service e-Care and e-Commerce solutions for the wireless communications industry, secured $15 million in its third round of financing led by Groupe Arnault's Internet arm, Europatweb. This latest investment will assist Netonomy in its expansion into the U.S. market and enable further development of MyNetonomy, its Customer-Managed Relationship (CRM) solution for the communications industry.
