MARLBOROUGH, June 11, Proficiency, a provider of
engineering supply chain collaboration solutions founded
in 1998, received $27.4 million in a second round of financing
led by Carmel Ventures. The new funding will support Proficiency's
product development, marketing and sales initiatives. New
investors in this Series C round included Genesis Partners,
Lehman Brothers, Koor Corporate Venture Capital, and Polaris
Venture Capital. Previous investors Charles River Ventures
and Eucalyptus Ventures, an affiliate of J.P. Morgan Partners
also participated.
CHELMSFORD,
June 11, Start-up Amperion, Inc. raised an undisclosed
amount in its first round of funding. American Electric
Power, Cisco Systems and Redleaf Group participated in the
round. Amperion will design, develop and sell networking
hardware and software that enables the delivery of high-speed
broadband data over medium-voltage powerlines.
WESTBOROUGH,
June 13, Healy Hudson Corp., a provider of collaborative,
multi-tier Supplier Relationship Management (SRM) solutions,
secured more than $10 million in capital during a round
of financing spearheaded by b-business partners. The round
also included current company shareholders APAX, Pricoa
and TGF.
LOWELL,
June 13, Quallaby Corporation, a provider of carrier-class
network monitoring and service assurance software, received
$14.5 million in late stage financing. Previous investors
North Bridge Venture Partners, Matrix Partners, HarbourVest
Partners, Commonwealth Capital Ventures, Adams Street Partners,
Partech International, and Galileo participated in the round
along with new investor RSA Ventures. Since its founding
in 1996, Quallaby has raised a total of $46 million.
WALTHAM,
June 13, WorkplaceIQ Ltd., a provider of online solutions
for corporate and commercial real estate organizations,
raised $13 million dollars in a Series B financing round
with investments from CB Richard Ellis, Insignia/ESG, Jones
Lang LaSalle, and Trammell Crow. Cedar Fund, CLAL Limited,
Genesis Partners and Israel Infinity Fund also participated.
WALTHAM,
June 14, InfoLibria, Inc., a provider of Internet
infrastructure solutions for service providers and enterprises
deploying content delivery networks (CDNs), completed a
$41 million round of funding led by Mellon Ventures. The
round also included Adams Capital, Kemper Ventures, Patricof
and Company, Sandler Capital Partners, Madison Dearborn,
GE Capital, Telesoft Partners, Tudor Private Equity Fund,
StarVest Partners and Mitsubishi.
BEDFORD, June 14, NitroMed, Inc., developer of Nitric
Oxide (NO)-enhanced medicines, raised a private financing
round of $31.4 million to continue late-stage clinical and
regulatory development of its lead product, BiDil, a Nitric
Oxide-based therapy for African American heart failure patients.
The financing round was led by Rho Ventures, and included
new investors, Care Capital, Morgan Stanley Venture Partners,
and Quintiles, along with existing investors HealthCare
Ventures, Boston University's Community Technology Fund,
and Johnson & Johnson Development Corporation.
