Michael
Stern, Publisher |

Michael Stern entered the publishing world in 1998 with
the launch of Massachusetts Investor's Digest (a monthly
business newspaper). A former stockbroker with Merrill
Lynch (and possessor of Series 7, 63, and 65 licenses),
Mr. Stern also had a brief stint as a technology specialist
at Fidelity Investments. Born in Dallas and a graduate
of the University of Texas at Austin, Stern began publishing
Venture Capital Databases in 2002. Favorite book: Bonfire
of the Vanities (Tom Wolfe). Favorite Quote (from
Mom): "It's better to have it and not need it than to
need it and not have it." |

Gil Irizarry,
Chief Technology Officer |

Originally from New York, Gil Irizarry
is the technology whiz behind Massinvestor. A software
engineer with a wide range of experience, Mr. Irizarry's
elegant coding created the Massinvestor Database, VC
News Daily web site, as well as the VC News Daily mobile
apps for Android and iOS. He is also the founder of
Conoa, Inc., which produces software for visual effects,
video compositing and motion graphics. Gil is a graduate
of Cornell where he received his BS in Computer Science,
and also holds a Masters in Liberal Arts from Harvard
University. Favorite Book: Zen and the Art of Motorcycle
Maintenance. |

Mary Grein
Rasner, Research Editor |

Mary Grein Rasner began working at Massinvestor
in 2006. Ms. Rasner holds a B.A. from the University
of Massachusetts at Amherst, and a Masters in Library
and Information Science from Simmons College. From 2003
until 2010, Ms. Rasner was the Head of Reference at
the Melrose Public Library, during which time she contributed
to several publications including a book on library
instruction. Favorite book: Bel Canto (Ann Patchett).

Marico
Corbin, Research Editor |

A Boston native, Marico Corbin picked up her writer's
pen early on, joining creative writing and book clubs
before her adolescent years. Upon completing her degree
in journalism from Boston University in 2008, Ms. Corbin
has worked with local publications including Stuff Magazine
and The Improper Bostonian. Marico acts as a contributing
writer for FinanceFoodie.com and is currently working
with a mobile application start-up that will feature
editorials focused on Boston neighborhoods. Favorite
Book: The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Nighttime
(Mark Haddon). Favorite quote: "Never wrestle with pigs.

Dennis
Mayer, Research Editor |

Based in Cambridge, MA, Dennis Mayer is a research editor
as well as a features reporter for Massinvestor, having
contributed several pieces to Massinvestor's VC News
Daily site. Dennis worked for MPG News Service, first
as a full-time reporter, and then managing a ten-town
newspaper chain. Dennis began his journalism career
with the Daily Free Press, the independent student newspaper
at Boston University, from which he graduated in 2005.
Dennis also writes content for Wasabi Media Group, and
works as a freelance reporter for the Patch news service.
In his free time, Dennis enjoys cooking, gardening,
playing music, and riding his motorcycle. |

Michael
Phuong, Research Editor |

Michael Phuong currently lives in his hometown of Boulder,
CO. In 2003, Michael journeyed to Boston to attend Northeastern
University, where he received his B.A. in Journalism.
Shortly after graduation, he began his work with Massinvestor.
Phuong was a contributor to Massinvestor's WhoOwnsFacebook.com
site, penning several of the profiles. Now that he is
back in his hometown, the things Michael misses most
about Boston are the fresh seafood, Boston Common on
a summer day, and his friends. The thing he misses least
about Beantown: riding public transportation after a
Red Sox game. Favorite book: The Amazing Adventures
of Kavalier and Clay. Favorite TV show: 30 Rock. |
